Making an EXPRESS Drive-Thru

Our drive-thru planning, construction, and organization is slowly coming to an end. Most of the equipment is in place. Not bolted down yet....Still, Hope and her staff are familiarizing themselves and doing their initial training. Finally!
(Our Menu Board Templates: Pricing not accurate)
We have had a difficult time deciding how our Express Espresso Drive-Thru will operate: should we have the full offering of JavaMoose products including sandwiches, specialty drinks, smoothies, cakes & treats? Or, should we make it fast and speedy so we don't alienate the car behind the car that orders 10 breakfast sandwiches, 9 Nutella Mocha Dreams, 8 double-soy-half-capp-mocha-latte and.................a partridge in a pear tree, too?
We looked inward! What motivates us to drive up and drive thru?
Speed, convenience, & consistent quality are essential.
Legend has it, the drive-thru was created in the 1930s in Missouri allowing Moms & Dads to feed their kids without leaving the confines of the car on road trips to the school play, the pool around the corner, or rink a block away. This parent's trap gave my Mom & Dad complete control over the occupants and that was really, really satisfying for them!
When driving alone and in a RUSH, the drive-thru is the vehicle that allows us to enjoy that private space where crumbs on the shirt, mustard on the tie, or spilled coffee on the lap, do not have to be explained or even acknowledged...(And I don't like getting out of the car when I am in a RUSH!)
Are we there yet?
We went to work. Our Express Espresso Drive-Thru is going to be truly Canadian-a compromise.
Tori, our extremely talented graphic designer from OrangeSprocket, was tasked with the creative. She loves our coffee and can create with only the aid of Foghorn, a phone and a computer. She works tirelessly 24/7. And the results: our Express Espresso Drive-Thru will be offering a selection of drip coffees, a selection of delicious capps, lattes, hot chocolates and mochas, a limited selection of specialty lattes & mochas, a few smoothies and of course (low calorie) treats and cookies. Mmmmm Cookies!
We are confident that with the proper training of our amazing staff on our amazing equipment we will be able to keep the lineups moving amazingly fast.
If you don't see something on the menu, come inside our Clark Road location. We will gladly prepare that drink or sandwich to your liking inside. Hey, you can even have a seat and enjoy the social community of our store. Just be careful that the mustard doesn't drip on your shirt.
We're almost there! A few more weeks and we will be Open!
