Mom’s of Princess’ NEED Coffee!

Well...Easter weekend has come & gone...it started for us with a Royal Princess birthday party for my 5 year-old daughter....the things we do! Thursday, after working until 3:30, I rushed home to make homemade cupcakes (Because doesn't EVERY 5 year-old notice if her mother doesn't supply HOMEMADE cupcakes?!?!?) As I was driving myself crazy because I didn't have a good frosting recipe....it occurred to me that every Princess Party needed chocolate that looked like tiara’s & wands …so off to Michaels’s I go!! Luckily Thursday evening JavaMoose in McAllister was open & I was able to get the caffeine I needed to finish that day!
Good Friday turned out to be a beautiful day. I made frosting, I made treat bags, I arranged games (& I drank 5 XXX before noon!). My husband had the brilliant idea of creating a magical castle for the 5-year-old party so my afternoon was spent painting that magical castle (after I brought in reinforcements of grandparents, an aunt, an uncle & cousins because it was the more the merrier!!). Good Friday for us involves a traditional fish feast with our extended family at our house. So once that was completed & everyone else had left, it was back to the party preparations.
Saturday went off without a hitch (I think)! I consumed much overly sugared Foghorn coffee, shared it with the other parents & without it, the 18 - 4 & 5 year-olds may not have survived (shouldn’t every 5 year-old need her WHOLE preschool class at her party??!?!) The homemade cupcakes that the kids decorated themselves with whipped cream & candy were a hit. Everyone ate the Princess covered chocolate cookies & marveled as to where I bought them (really?!?!). To see my daughter’s face light up when she walked in to that party truly was priceless! For the 5 seconds that she thought I was the best Mom on Earth made my craziness all worthwhile!! My husband on the other hand, would certainly question that!
As we begin another week, I know that I am thankful that Princess parties only come along once a year!
