The Coffee Cat

Opty is my cat. I really like him. A lot.
I am missing Opty because I am not home to give him his latte fix. Opty is allowed to have coffee. It is the milk he goes for really but he prefers it from my cup and my cup usually contains a latte. Opty cannot have chocolate because he is a cat. That’s too bad because coffee and chocolate are frequent pairings in Europe. Both are excellent by the way.
I have noticed that the quality of the coffee is in direct relation to the quality of the chocolate here. Seek out the best of one and you will find the best of the other. Chocolate is very often served with coffee in Europe. It's nice to experience the difference in the local chocolate and the local espresso. You can taste the difference from town to town here. I can’t say one is much better than the other as they are all good. Different but good. Different should be embraced.
I have to say though I did prefer one. I enjoyed it in a small town where I sat in the square and met Cindy the dog. I had ordered a latte served by the most incredible Barista. In all humility it was as good or better than I would make at home. Cindy the dog made me think of my pets at home. As I sipped my latte and savored my tiny and delicious chocolate (made in house) I thought of Opty. He would like it here. Pets are welcome in almost every establishment, frequently curling up under the feet of owners quietly enjoying their coffee. It must be the atmosphere that reminded me of home and allowed me to really enjoy the experience.
